Meet the Founders
One of my 2nd grade students struggled in school after a number of deaths and losses in his family. On a particularly tough day, we started our 1-1 lesson by acknowledging the list of things that were making him feel sad – and then we switched to talking about the things that made him feel happy. His "happy list" grew a little at a time, and so did his smile. After a while, we wrote his "happy list" items on pieces of masking tape and stuck them to 6-sided dice that he could keep in his pocket and roll when he needed a boost...
And HappyDice were born! The concept caught on, and lots of other students made their own HappyDice.
